SHANGHAI, July 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. ("JinkoSolar" or the "Company") (NYSE: JKS), one of the world's leading global solar power product manufacturers, today announced that its solar project has been chosen as a finalist by Intersolar 2012 in the "Solar Projects in North America" category. The Intersolar Award is presented each year for innovation in the international solar industry.
The Dependable Companies' photovoltaic installation – to which JinkoSolar provided 5,292 solar modules – was selected to be a finalist by an expert panel for this year's prestigious industry award. The 1.2 MW photovoltaic system is located at The Dependable Companies' East Los Angeles, CA headquarters, which stores a range of products for the logistics and shipping company. Upon its completion in November 2011, the installation became the world's largest rooftop solar system on an industrial high-rise building.
In addition to JinkoSolar, The Dependable Companies worked with Premier Power to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the installation, which covered approximately 300,000 square feet of the 1.5 million square foot facility. From its location near the crossroads of four different freeways in Los Angeles, The Dependable Companies' roof-mounted PV system is visible to thousands of drivers daily, making it a solar evangelist to the nearby community. The Dependable Companies is one of the world's leading providers of trucking, freight forwarding and airfreight solutions, and has been recognized previously for pioneering sustainability initiatives.
JinkoSolar's Marketing & PR Director Isabelle Christensen will provide an overview of the Dependable photovoltaic project at Intersolar North America's Innovation Exchange on July 10 at 1:00pm. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on July 10 at Intersolar North America.
